SUBMISSION DEADLINE

NEW DATES

Tuesday 22 September 2020 at 5pm

Online submission will open on 7 August 2020.

WHO CAN ENTER

The Competition is open to all British and International artists (see Rules/Guidelines on Shipping & Couriers) over the age of 18 years old on 20th March 2020.

ENTRY FEE

Members of the Society can enter up to 3 works for free.

Non-members can enter up to 2 works.

1 work – £15

2 works – £27

Young artists (aged 18 – 25) may submit up to 2 works at £5 per work.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Exhibits may be paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints or mixed media. Digital prints and collaborative artworks can be submitted – see rules and guidelines for further details. No photography or Giclée reproductions will be accepted.

Exhibits must be original, the artist’s unaided work.

There are no size or weight restrictions within reason. The gallery does show off larger works to advantage; sizes of up to 150cm have been exhibited previously but bear in mind that even if a work is accepted there may not always be room to hang it. Sculptures should be stable and safe to exhibit.

Works must be for sale for a minimum of £100, with the exception of prints.

ENTRY PROCESS

In order to enter please go to online entry and complete the registration form where you will be asked to enter your details and pay for your submission. Please note that payment does NOT mean your application is complete – you will need to upload images of your work before 5 May 2020 in order to be considered.

If you have never used the site before you will be sent an email with login details. Please follow the instructions in the email. If you have entered before you will be asked to log in when using the registration form.

In order to complete your application you must upload an image of your work/works. If you have successfully registered you will be able to edit your entry via the online entry tab. Here you can upload the images and enter the details of your work. You are free to go back and make any changes up until the deadline on the 5 May 2020. After this point your entry will be automatically entered and you will not be able to edit anything.

The physical selection process for wall hung work will be by a panel of society members and guest selectors including: David Inshaw RWA, President of the Bath Society of Artists; Jon Benington, Victoria Art Gallery Manager; artist Charlotte Sorapure; and Jessica Lloyd-Smith, of Modern Art Buyer.
